Early Years: (1942-8th January)
Ranichak Deshapran High School was founded in 1942 by a group of visionaries who recognized the need for quality education in the village. Initially, the school operated in a small cottage with limited resources, offering primary education to local students, both girls and boys.
Expansion and Growth: (1945-1969)
In 1945, the school expanded its curriculum to include secondary education, and the student body grew rapidly. New pucca buildings and facilities were added to accommodate the increasing enrollment. The school became a hub for academic excellence and extracurricular activities. In 1961, the school was upgraded to a secondary school under WBBSE, and in 1977, under WBCHSE.
Sri Shrish Chandra Mondal Adhikary was the founder of the school. Many education enthusiasts who helped enrich the school included Rakhal Bhowmik, Paresh Chandra Sikdar, Sheikh Javed Ali, Manik Lal Adhikari, Sudhir Kumar Shaw, Jibankrishna Maity, Dhirendranath Mandal, and Debendra Nath Samanta. Their contributions were instrumental in setting up the school.
Modernisation and Development: (1970-2000)
The 1970s and 1980s saw significant modernization efforts with the introduction of new teaching methods, science labs, and sports facilities. The school continued to produce notable alumni who made contributions in various fields.
Contemporary: (2000-Present)
In the 21st century, Ranichak Deshapran High School has continued to evolve, embracing technology integration (ICT lab), innovative pedagogies, and community engagement initiatives (plantation, blood donation camps, health camps, social awareness, etc.). The school has maintained its commitment to providing inclusive, holistic education, preparing students for success in an ever-changing world.
Legacy and Impact:
From the very beginning, the school has left a rich legacy that continues to this day. Present teachers tirelessly drive the mission forward, and students also support the betterment of the institution. Every year, January 8th is celebrated as Foundation Day with pomp and grandeur, and we remain hopeful for continued success.
